Apart from the fact he was played by JAMIE DORNAN, he was not attractive or sexy at all. Prior to watching this film I thought Christian Grey was meant to be a sexy, attractive character that every woman would fall for. The music (Beyonce’s slow Crazy In Love & Haunted, The Weeknd’s Earned It and Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding) I think I should point out at this point, that there are precisely 5 things good about this film, and 5 things ALONE.

Christian is very persistent though, and manages to trick and manipulate her into his world. Ana is not comfortable signing the contract, as she is virgin, and thinks that Grey’s contract is too much (and rightly so). The ‘contract’ is to confirm that Anastasia understands that this is a dominance and submissive relationship, whereby she is not allowed to “touch” Christian (only he can touch her), she must do everything sexual “he asks her to do” (or more accurately he asks to do to HER) she must “eat well”, “not drink alcohol” and “not have sexual relations with anyone but the dominator”. He shows Ana his “playroom” – an entire room full of handcuffs, ropes, whips and torturous looking devices. He then asks Anastacia to sign his contract, that he gives to all his love conquests. He takes an intense in Ana’s plain looks and apparent social awakardness immediately.Īs well as being a super rich and powerful man (we NEVER find out what his job actually is, or why he is so rich and powerful – apparently even Anastasia doesnt think it’s necessary to find out as she never asks) we soon find out that Grey has a flavour for sexual dominance.

As soon as Ana arrives, she realises Christian Grey is actually really attractive and young. She doesn’t actually work for the university newspaper, but is helping out her flatmate Kate, as she is too ill to go and do the interview herself (which is a very weird concept, as surely Kate could have asked someone who DID work on the university newspaper to go instead?). The story is about Anastasia Steele, a slightly clueless and very naive twenty one year old who happens to stumble across the multi millionaire underwear model lookalikey, Christian Grey, when she goes to interview him for her University newspaper. I haven’t read any of the books from the 50 Shades of Grey saga, so was intrigued to see what all the hype was over this best selling book. The other day I went to go and watch Fifty Shades of Grey.
